Swamped barrel question

 I have swamped barrel that I was wondering if used in a percussion build would be period correct. This is a light barrel I was going to use for a build for my grandson, and he would prefer percussion.

I think so, consider that many old flint guns were converted to percussion.

Drum and nipple? How  thick is the barrel where drum goes if so?

A lot of percussion Southern mountain rifles had long, heavy, slightly swamped barrels.

Check out a patent breech……that  would eliminate thickness concerns.   One slightly over  size might be able to be filed to match the barrel taper .   Worth looking into I think.
