Wire would be fine. If you just want the decoration to please your eye do it they way you want. If you want it to be historically consistent, then a little more thought is needed. The Brits rarely ever seemed to add wire in a restrained way. They usually did it to profusion or not at all. One thing about wire inlay, 2 Shots, is it does not have much mass and can get lost easily on the stock and become a game of "Where's Waldo". Hence piling it on in a defined space gives it mass and presence. Anyway, Jim Kibler's fowler represents a good quality gun made for export. As such, few would have any wire inlay but there are almost certainly exceptions. If you decide to inlay wire, I urge you to pick a spot on the stock like the upper corner of the butt stock against the heel of the butt plate or around the barrel tang carving, and lay it on with some density. That will make a strong visual impact.
