Purchased by a friend from the estate of Anthony Skulski. The letter "F" on the top flat.

That is some pretty unique barrel engraving to accompany the F initial.  And not “Mr Fs” first or only gun.  You should be able to turn up something on it over time.

Assuming it’s the makers last name initial, have you searched the “F” last names on the CLA artisan list?  Many past era builders predate that list, but it is a starting point.
