Foxfire Rifle Progress
« on: October 06, 2024, 03:46:49 AM »
I used the Foxfire Rifle I started in the July class today at the Wytheville Museums Umberger Homestead to use in our gunmaking shop for educational purposes. I had two rifle projects going to demonstrate the process involved and used the time to get a little further. It could be selfish, but I did use the time to contour the back of my trigger and wound up also getting the incise lines whittled into the buttstock and cheekpiece.
I beat myself over getting it functional yesterday and finishing the trigger. Today watching kids pull the trigger and flinch when the cock flew forward to the Frizzell- was all worth it when their little faces turned to smiles and grins.
Building and teaching.
