Frank Burton Rifle

Hello, I am new to this site because I know very little about muzzle loaders but a person came into my gun store located in Pawleys Island, S.C. with a  black-powder rifle that he wanted to sell. The only thing I could find on the barrel was the name F. Burton. When I searched for the name it brought me to your website where I learned some interesting facts about his life. I am posting some pictures of the rifle which by the way is beautiful. If you can help with any information please do.

Burton worked in North Carolina in the 70s-80s. He had an association with John Bivins. I don’t believe that Frank was a full time maker but rather a serious hobby gunmaker. There are a few of his guns out there. They are generally valued in the $1500.00-$2000.00 range.

Frank Burton was a friend of mine. He moved from N. C. to Pawleys Island in the seventies. He was a talented person and I wish I had the opportunity to have spent more time with him. He passed in in the mid eighties. His late son, Jay became a great friend to my family. Frank’s widow, Janet passed away about a month ago.

Sorry, I did not read properly.   I was thinking you said it was a Frank Bartlett rifle.     I have a Bartlett that I should sell.
