Alabama show
« on: January 27, 2025, 07:19:21 PM »
Hi everyone

Unfortunately the weather forced us to cancel the 2025 show. I hope everyone faired safely during the weather that swept through the southland and caused much havoc. We got about 3" of snow at the house and there was about 6" where the show is held, so it was probably for the best that everyone stayed home.

I tried to reschedule for a little latter date but I could not get a date that I thought would work, so there will be no Alabama show this year. I have set the date for the 2026 show of January 15th - 17th. This is a week later in the year, hopefully we will have better luck.

We really appreciate everyone's support for the show. I have had many calls by folks wanting to make sure that all cost were covered and wanting to know if I needed any help in covering those cost. First let me say a big thank you to all of those people, it is truly appreciated.

The folks at the Joe Wheeler Lodge have worked with me over the years to make this show one of the best. Their help and efforts in making sure that there is staff for the hotel and restaurant and the lodge is also much appreciated. They have worked with me on the cost for the show and reaized that the cancelation was due to the weather and did not charge any cost to me for the cancelation.

To those that sent in their table fees, I can hold them for next years show or I can return the fee to you if you would like. I you want your table fee returned please send me an email at calvarylongrifles@gmail.com.

Thanks again everyone, keep your fingers crossed for next year.

Jim

PS Moderators please move this to the show notification's after eveyone gets a look. I felt it would get more traction here.

We are all elated when Dame Fortune smiles at us, but remember that she is always closely followed by her daughter, Miss Fortune.

Jim I haven't made your show for other reasons. But to us Michigan type people 6 inches of snow is nothing . Two feet might get our attention... lol
But in all seriousness you did the right thing.  We commend you for it..!
