Horns and pouches

Here are two horns and two shot bags I'm working on for my daughter and me. The fringed bag is my daughters. The other Roger Sells gave me a pattern from an original to copy. The horns above each will accompany the bags.

Do you happen to know if the original pouch was lined?

James I don't think so, Roger didn't mention any. The flap had hair on it also.

I really like the curves in the body of the one on the left!

I really like the look of the left one, copied from the original. I would love to see it when it is finished. It has a great "feel" to it, much like many of the old Southern Appalachian pouches which were often rather crude in a sense, but had lots of character.

Brian/James,
The original bag (the one that Brian reproduced on the left) was not lined.  I found it in Missouri, but I do not know where it originated.  It is a nice size for a small cal. rifle, and have copied it in the past.  I added an inside pocket on my reproduction and changed the flap a bit, but plan on copying it again with a flap similar to what Brian has done.   I too like the one that Brian has made.  Looks good Brian.
