54 caliber flint lock rifle
« on: March 14, 2025, 04:52:16 PM »
Hello everyone! Another project finished, I have a 54 caliber rifle stocked on a grade 3 peice of curly maple. The rifle is relatively plain but with a toe, forestock, and cheek peice molding and relief carving at the cheek. The rifle carries a 42 inch Colerain barrel with a white lightening touchhole and a LR Queen Anne style lock. The length of pull is 14 3/4 inches and has just under a 2lb trigger pull. The overall length is 58 and 3/4", weighing 8lbs.

I am asking 1,600.00 for the rifle plus shipping, the rifle will be shipped in a wooden crate. You may contact me at 916-225-2416 for inquiries, thank you for your time and have a great day!

Just outstanding work! The carving, and overall quality is just over the top!
Then a voice told him, "Get up, Peter. Kill and eat." Acts 10:13

If you bought that stock blank as a Grade 3 at a Grade 3 price - I’d say you did very well.  ✅💪

48 inch barrel and 15 and 1/4 inch LOP = 63 1/4 inches.  Just trying to figure out the total length stated at "overall length of 58 3/4 inches".  I have a 48 inch Rice with a little over 14 inch LOP and mine is just a hair under 65 inches.  Not trying to be a smarty pants.  I love my long rifles.

Yeah so another gentleman pointed this out to me(I posted this late at night) and I'm trying to figure out what's up with the numbers lol my tape measure isn't lying and the second one isn't lying either ! Upon measuring again the LOP is actually 14 3/4 the oal however still lies around the 58 inch mark. For the LOP is am measuring from the center of the butt plate, and the oal I've measured from both the center of the bp and the toe, still floats around 58-58.5". In other words, I'm stumped.

48 in barrel. That leaves about an 8 inch LOP to be 58 inches.
