Knoxville Horn and Bag assembled
« on: May 01, 2025, 06:58:09 PM »
My first time at the Knoxville show was extremely enjoyable.  I really liked talking to everyone I met in person, many just knowing them from here before that.  The rifles were eye opening, and I did get a NC one I'll show later.  But here is my lightweight kit I made for my .40 Kibler I made over Christmas.  I wanted a light, sparse mountain style bag, and bought it from the young maker I can't recall his name.  I added the great Billy Griner horn to complete the kit.  I think I'll go shooting today!
Thanks for everyone who came to the show and made it so memorable, thanks Cades Cove for telling me I should go over the past few years.

Knoxville has become one of my favorite shows, due in part to its focus on southern guns which I find more refreshing and interesting these days, Randall's effort to keep much of the show about original rifles, and the great food and hospitality that make it a friendlier show than most. It's fun to meet and chat with people we've gotten to know through this web site and put a face with a name. Glad Cades Cove brought you over to meet in person and share a chuckle about our prior exchanges and the neat little Breckinridge Co., KY gun you sold me a couple years ago... still one of my favorites. And now that I know you like North Carolina rifles, I might even keep an eye out for a decent one, just to tease you with!

It was great putting a face to the name too Shelby.  I enjoy your books, and know you like the rifle we exchanged hands on.

Yes, NC and TN mountain rifles are now my thing.  I'll send KY ones to you...you send NC ones to me!

Cades Cove, you really made my great trip possible!

And a little bird told me the bag was made by Jay Blain.  Where "little" means "adult size" and "bird" means Billy G.!

Jay makes a great bag. And had just improved vastly as he works to refine his work.
