I was able to rescue this gun off of eBay a few years back. I was fortunate enough to get all of the pieces. I just didn’t come with lock and hammer screws. It has been crudely converted to half stock sometime in the past, and the previous owners wreaked havoc on it by stripping the stock and removing the finish on the metal. There is however remnants of a signature.  Does anyone have any idea where and when this gun was made and by who? Any other thoughts or comments welcome.

It needs a lot. Hopefully I’ll find more out about it so I’ll know what direction to go with bringing it back.

The name looks like it might be "C * Siple" and if so, it would be Christian Siple of Dauphin County, PA, working ca.1800-1830.

Thanks Shelby,
After doing a google search I can see that the signature on mine loos like ones that are more complete.  I also see some signed examples with the same patch box engraving.
