? SMR? rifle acquired from east tennessee

i know nothing more about this, having gotten it from an online auction in east TN, and they said it was a local rifle.  Bill Paton has seen it.  it is a very plain delicate little rifle, with 42" swamped barrel of approximately 29-30 caliber.









i have more pictures available.    just curious as to origin and approximate  age etc

he said it is a southern mountain rifle .... and had no further idea about it.
