Brass lock bolts ?
« on: August 22, 2008, 02:01:04 PM »
Does anyone know of a source for 8-32 and 6-32 brass lock bolts with a cheesehead ?

I know that they are used in boat building and electronics/aviation but all I have found
so far are roundhead machine screws.

Thanks
Paul

I have seen some original guns with brass heads brazed onto steel screws. They were like a roundhead steel screw with a veneer of brass over laid and soldered. The screw and slot would have the durability of a steel screw, with the appearance of brass.

What's a Cheesehead bolt?

I thought a cheesehead was a Greenbay Packers fan! :D

The only cheesehead screws I'veever seen were on old Brit motorcycles. None were brass.
