Found this proof on a Brown Bess barrel and wondering if it is original.

I agree with Smart Dog...That mark (and that one looks entirely spurious to me) is the tower view mark. For Tower Private Proofs it was struck twice, for government arms it was struck once with the additional mark being a GR & Broad Arrow.
