My sons first ML big game

My son hasn't had many opportunity's to hunt the past 25 years as the Marine Corps had other things for him to do. He was a Cobra pilot. He retired two years ago. This Mule deer doe was taken this fall near his home in Colorado with his 54 caliber 1803 Harpers Ferry reproduction. The load was a Lee REAL bullet and 60 grains of GOEX 2FF-G. One shot at 50 to 60 yards. DRT. I think he may be hooked.

Fantastic! Congrats to your son. After my first flintlock shot elk this year, I'm now thinking about using it on future hunts where I'd normally use a bolt action. It is a wonderful experience.

Nuthin like the first one! 51 years ago, and I remember every detail like it was yesterday. Hope he has many years of good hunts.
