W M Large
« on: November 20, 2025, 11:13:19 PM »
I have three rifles with W M Large barrels. The first one I would like to share was built as a target rifle. I am interested to discover if anyone recognizes the maker from these images.
Thank you.

Looks like a Schuetzen rifle.Target shooting only and is it made for a ball or bullet? Schuetzen matches were a German idea and many were shot offhand with long bullets at 200 meters offhand. After WW1 every thing German was not wanted and these matches vanished.I made a number of special locks for this style of gun but they went to the shop of Helmut Mohr in Mayen/Hausen Germany. He had to make round ball guns because of land restrictions in WEST Germany would not allow for 200 meter range.I still have one of his semi finished stocks made by Pecatonica and inlet for a one inch barrel.I would like to see a revival of these 200 meter shoots and the guns could be American or English styles.Helmut Mohr is deceased and I looked to see if his son continued the shop and apparently he did not.
