Flower Power squirrel shooter

That what my wife calls it. Simple and dainty 32 caliber with a motif that was used by some Indiana makers, and a man in the moon overlooking stars on the cheek side. Barrel is a Green Mountain, Davis lock and triggs. The guard is an older one that I had in my stash and I don't know if it's something that is cast today. It's a very light rifle and it shoots well and easy to handle

John had me hold it down leaning over a rail while he engraved it off the gun. We were doing a demo at a rendezvous and that part was a bit impromptu. It worked though, no fancy equipment or setups so it makes me wonder how often it was done like that originally? I'm sure it wasn't common necessarily, but I would have a hard time believing it was never done like that.

As it concerns the trigger guard, I think it was used quite a bit in the Jamestown NC area.  I have a couple of new castings, and one old used one that came from that area.  James Levy
