Finished the wire inlay in the pistol grip.
« on: February 07, 2010, 03:18:47 PM »
Thank you all for your help and advice.  I've finished the wire inlay in the pistol grip. I think it went OK. I used 0.01"x 0.05" pure silver ribbon, anchored on the bottom as recommended. No problems with getting it to follow the curves of the stock.

I'll be starting on the muzzle cap next.

Best regards

This looks beautiful Rolfkt, Its more difficult to do wire work on a multi-curved surface, nice job. I have always liked how the wire adds a nice touch of class to the  project when done tastefully.

Hi Rolf,
Well done!  It is a very nice accent.  Your other post about transferring the design from one side to the other is good.  The technique is similar to what is done with engraving designs.
