Nice horn Tim. I really like the color on the tip. How does the AF stain hold up on horns. Any better than rit?
I think the AF hold up well. I have always thought that heating the horn helps set the color in it rather than on it.
On some horns I go through more than just the AF step. I should have said (And I will add it the write up) that after the AF I sometimes heat the horn again and wipe it with just a thin coat of an oil based leather dye, might be brown, light brown, mahogany, saddle tan, your pick depending on what color you are looking for. As soon as it is on it gets wiped off, then a coat of brown or black paste shoe polish goes on let it dry and buff it off.
Maybe to much information.
