Mitch -- Tell your grandson that's a nice group on the top target. Took my 17-year-old granddaughter and 24-year-old grandson (both of whom have b-p "carbines" I made for them), out shooting in San Antonio (where they live) last summer. Granddaughter was shooting , and a nearby couple (shooting a .22 rifle; mixed-use range) noticed the smoke and elaborate loading procedures, and came over to watch my granddaughter shoot. Looking at the target (nice, tight group), the husband/boyfriend was impressed: "Wow! If that'd been a deer, he'd have been down by now!" Granddaughter was proud and grandpa was, too. -- paulallen, tucson az

Oooops! Sorry, Mitch. Tell your SON he had a nice group on that top target. I forget that we're not all as elderly as I've become. My apology. -- paulallen, tucson az

Way to go!!!
You can never go wrong spending time with your children
Teaching them to shoot is great
Many a day spent at the range and never fired a shot just working with my boys and there freinds that had an interest in shooting
Keep up the good work

Jeff

PS Nice group by the way!

No problem ;D ;D ;D

Roberts last five shots on the top target are the ones around the bull.Once the sights were filed down and he settled down he put them right in there.Neat thing about kids is they don't know they are not supposed to be able to do it They just do it!!!!!

Both Taylor and I started off in black powder muzzleloading 'pieces' at an early age, with cannons of all things.  We built small ship's sides, with mounted cannons on a carriage - would roll them out and shoot chunks of lead at weed pods floating down the Thames river in Ontario. Great fun. 'course' back then, we were just boys playing - a normal occurance.  Just across the river from our house where we were shooting, was the Bank of Montreal - interesting times, indeed.

I think it was the Toronto Dominion Bank, Daryl.  I still have the tin from the first can of Curtis and harvey that we bought...about fifty years ago.
