I choked a rifle once and it shot slugs exceptionally well, with it's 38" twist. I jug choked the .44 smoothbore and it shot well with both shot and ball.
This Henlkeler gun has about an imp/cyl choke, quite noticable when loading ball, but doesn't blow the patch with the loads I've used so far.
DWS has intereested me with his question - I'll try to pattern it on Monday (tomorrow) or Tuesday - this week, anyway. The only shot I have is almost drop-shot (not hard shot), and it's quite fine as in 7 1/2's or 8's, but I'll weight out some one ounce charges and count the pellets to get a number, then do the patterns- probably came range, unless someone's moved the target holder.
