Installing Triggers

  Does anybody know of a set triggers being pinned into a stock instead of using a bolt that goes thru the tang into the trigger plate, or the  use of wood screws thru the plate.  I don't know if this is or has ever bee a practice.  It was merely a thought that became a question.

I've seen southern guns where the front of the plate was held in by an undercut or the trigger guard,  the rear was held by a screw.   I don't know about the other schools well but I think this was pretty much a southern thing only.  I've never seen double triggers pinned. 
What school of gun are you building?  I think I would let that dictate how you install them.

Lurch......unless you are going to use wood screws down thru the tang to hold the barrel in place, you will  probably use
a tang bolt.   When you use a tang bolt, the front of the trigger plate automatically becomes a good "nut" for that bolt.
That's just the way it's done.............Don

I get long distance vibes here that you are leery of installing that tang bolt   If this be the case study the installation of the bolt location, angle, small drill bit first, drill from both ends to meet in the middle, punch your center first keep a rattail file handy to straighten the hole.  $#*!, have at it. It'll work out....

   I'm not really following any particular school, nor do I wish to mimic any particular builder.  I would like to build a rifle in the traditional style that is both unique and totally a style created by the limits of my imagination,(or the end result of a horribly mistake)   Either way I don't think the original builders were trying to build something to mimic someone else,  there weren't any.

   The title should've been: " Installing the trigger "    I plan to use the simplicity of the single pull trigger. I like to go the simple route on things, ... yet thought out methodically or analytically.

Sure, just put a single trigger in it like Chambers uses in his Early PA Lancaster. It is
just one hole to drill  (Correctly) & you pin it high & that is it. I would put a triggerplate over it as well,  with a small wood screw in the front & in the rear of the plate should work.
