« on: March 22, 2010, 02:21:50 AM »
Our White River Brigade held the 1st Annual Fess Parker Memorial Shoot today.  We had better weather then expected for this memorial shoot.  If you'd like to have a look, here is a link to our WRB blog.

Thanks guys.  We just felt the need to do something like this.  I think Fess Parker meant a lot, to a lot of us.

An excellent idea! I wish I'd thought of it.

Hopefully at my club shoot this Saturday we can have a spare rifle and put up a poster for other shooters to take a shot or two with a ML (We shoot at an open-to-the-public range).

That would be nice trentOH.  The folks we had at our shoot really had no idea we were going to do this after our match was over.  I think they were both surprised and interested in taking a shot with the flintlock.  Most had never shot one.

A buckskinning friend of mine stopped by where I work today and I told him about our
Fess Parker Memorial Shoot we held, and he said he was sorry he missed it.  He did tell me he was going to make the next shoot in April.

We'll do this Memorial Shoot again each year in March.  I also think I might just make taking a shot with the flintlock a monthly thing.  Who knows, might even plant some flintlock seeds?  Fess Parker may no longer be with us, but his Frontier Spirit lives on.
