Shouldn't that 6 be a 2?  Perhaps my eyes are getting bad, but even to put a 3 in there would be stretching it, unless it is an abnormal variation with something other than the boring keyhole patchbox.  These swivels are the easiest to find and most expensive Kentucky rifles out there.  If you ever attended an auction in Perry county, where Shuler worked, people practically tackle each other for these relatively common pieces.  Fun to watch!

I couldn't make a new one for $6500.

I live in Perry Co.  where Liverpool is located.  While I haven't seen any tackling at a public sale, I know you better have at least 5K in your pocket if you plan to bid.
I only paid about 1/3 that price for my Shuler..........but I bought it from a man in Kentucky.

Most of you people don't realize that it is "Perry" county.   Perry county gets picked on a lot, such as "last year when that real bad thunderstorm went thru the area, with high winds, it did over 3 million dollars in improvements".   Serious, those
Shuler guns, when they come  up for sale in Perry county, people go nuts, think they are the greatest thing since Apple
pie was invented.   They are still those late period guns, and in my mind, certainly not worth that $6500 asking price.
But, occassionally you will find someone with more money than grey matter and they will buy it.    I know of an attorney
who paid $5000 for a Joe Long which was not in great shape to start with..............Don

Don,
I think that was two years ago, I don't know of any improvements last year.
