New Pouch and Horn

This is a set I just completed for a customer in PA. He really liked my Southwest, VA. pouch and we paired it up with a Southern horn I made not long ago.

The pouch is goatskin with a full hemp lining. It is about 7" wide by 7.5" deep. The strap is 1" wide and adjusted  with the button on the back top. The binding is wrapped calfskin on the flap edge and the inside lip. Short fringed welt. There is a hanging inside pocket. The knife is by Charlie Wallingford, and the  pick/brush set and powder measure are Spark Mumma pieces.

The horn is about 14" around the curve as I remember, and the beehive base plug is apple. The tip is turned from horn in a NC pattern I found.

Thanks for the kind words guys, I do appreciate it.

The horn hanger and strap adjustment is based on the original pouch, which had a very similar arrangement, but with a hook on the front instead of a button. I changed it slightly for this pouch by substituting the hammered copper button on the front side.

I have already shipped it off to the customer Mark, but I will have the first one I made like it with me this weekend.

 As you know, I am stuck in the 18th century but this one has given me some inspiration to to match a pouch to a later styled gun I have.
I really like the style, shape and horn attachments. What weight of goat did you use?

Are the buttons--front for horn, back for strap adjustment--tied together cufflink style? And is the front horn attachment also a button? Are your strap buttonholes punched both ends and a slit between or just punched one end?

The front and rear buttons for the strap and horn hanger are cuff-linked. The front hanger is attached directly to the strap.

The slits in the shoulder strap are "punched" only on the end where they rest against the button and are under a load.

Thanks, Jeff. I guess that "detachability" only at the butt end of the horn would allow the horn to be dropped for refilling through the spout end? Otherwise I'm not sure why the horn can't be completely removed from the rest of the setup. Or can it? I'm always looking for answers to the "how's-it-hanging" question.
