Johannes (John) Moll
« on: April 09, 2010, 03:30:21 PM »
The Herman Rupp thread made me think of this but I did not want to interpt it with this, so I started a new one.  I am interested in John or Johannes Moll rifles and I have seen people use him interchangeably with Rupp style.  The other terms I have heard are Northhampton County, and Allentown.  Other that this I can't find much, but the examples I have seen look very cool.  What can you folks tell me about the differences from a builders perspective, and as always we love pictures.

Many thanks in advance

Coryjoe, I think Eric Kettenburgs site has about as interesting information about the Molls as you would find.

Thanks Tom that is a lot of help.  I am considering making a poorboy style rifle in that shape and style.  I just love the look of those.

Ron Rodhe has a pattern taken right off of a very early Moll. The original is very plain with a sliding wood box and is one of a very few early developed Lehighs.  Truly a neat gun from an architectural stand point.
