If ya'll havn't been on the CLA for sale page recently get on there and check out T.C. Albert The Yadkin pouch and horn set.
I live near the Yadkin, not quite on its banks but cross it every day at some point and have fished it and its tributaries many times. My research for my dissertation is also about early settlements on the Yadkin through the Constitutional Convention. For me it is as important as the Delaware or Potomac rivers for our history.
Highways have removed its importance to trade, but back in the day it was a highway itself.
I check out CLA everyone morning and I think my heart skipped a beat when I saw what T.C. had created. It is perfect, and it takes into account the ethnic diversity of the region which I think is particularly thoughtful.
As far as I know not much has survived from the area from the earliest settlement (1760s), and least nothing confirmed. Most of the original items I have seen are from slightly later. So this piece took the cultures inot consideration and set the design around that. Focusing mainly on Germanic origin, with some twist. The sale is already pending so get on there and check it out before it goes away.
