That whole rifle (antique) is probably 100X cruder and more crooked than the piece that Kibler is reproducing so I don't see any point in trying to make it a dead on copy as you'd probably have to soak one of Jim's kits in water and dry it in the hot sun 3 or 4 times just to get the crooked 'wonky' factor. Kibler's piece is a gun stocked and reproduced (kits) by a real professional. I don't think I can say as much for the dude who stocked up the original rifle.
Wallace had a great article on the rifle in an older issue of MB mag maybe 15 years or more back - had some decent pictures there, might be able to find it and get some more detail. I can't remember the exact year or month but it was post-2000. I know, I know, not very specific.
