What would be the predominant long muzzle loader carried by New Englanders during the revolutionary war period?

Fowlers mostly - many seem to have a little French influence to the architechure.  I have seen reference to old captured spanish guns being used,  many captured french fowlers were distributed to New England units after the F&I, as were outdated Besses.  I wonder if a thrifty New Englander would have taken his good gun if there was a chance his old worn out one might be replaced for service,  the good one could stay home and feed and defend the family.

Grinslade's book has some very nice surviving examples of New England pieces.
