Quality precarves???

Who offers the better quality precarves?

I am needing a fullstock (probably a Southern style), with 13/16" barrel inlet and ramrod hole drilled.    No lock mortise inletting is fine.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Try Troy Roope at Stonewall Creek Outfitters.  He has large quanities in stock, quick service, and good prices, though I think he gets his from Pecatonica.  I've gotten my last two or three from Troy, and have been quite happy.

"Southern" is a pretty broad style. You might give Randy at TVM a call.

I'm not sure of everything they carry but Pecatonica or Tip Curtis might be able to help. I've worked with Pecatonica and been real happy, and I've heard second hand that Tip is real good too.

I'm with Nate, Dave seems to do nice work as does Ron Rodhe, But I don't really consider them "Precarves" In the same sense as something that's 75-95% shaped out. They are just helping out with a rough buttstock shape. If that's all your looking for ....go for one of those guys.

Dennis Glazener for a Gillespie style rifle or Dave Keck (Knob Mountain) - several styles.
 
Tip Curtis also has a couple of nice patterns.
