Lathe question
« on: September 02, 2010, 03:00:31 AM »
I just got a lathe, Atlas/Clausing 6305.  12 x 48".   Would anyone here have one of these? I'm looking for an owners manual.   I know how to run it, I'm looking for maintenance info.

Thanks,
Bill

I don't have one of those, but you might find a copy you can download here:

Thanks for the help.  I saw the one one Ebay and I emailed Clausing but didn't hear back from them.   Every 6300 lathe I'm finding online is a 12x36.  This one is 12x48.  Apparently not to many were sold.

Bill,  Here is the url for the Clausing Service Center:
http://www.atlas-press.com/service.htm
They supposedly have the manual.
I Googled "CLAUSING 6300 MANUAL"  and got 11,000 results.  Here is one:

Thanks Joe,
I emailed the service center yesterday morning but no reply yet.   Google turned up a lot of info, but the only manual I found for sale is on Ebay.  Also, many of the Google links go to the UK.   I will give the service center a few more days and go the Ebay route.

Thanks again,
Bill

Thanks Lew,
I sent three emails to three different people at Clausing mid-week last and haven't heard back yet.

The manual won't be any different for a 12 x 36 than for a 12 x 48.

:)  After three unanswered emails to three different people and waiting a week, I picked up the old land line and called Clausing.  5 minutes later I had a manual emailed to me in .pdf format free of charge.  Thank you to everyone for your help.
