Probably Marston, your gun looks like a single shot pistol in Flaydermans Book..William W. Marston, New York. (New York 1864) book says some of his guns are marked, Marston & Knox. Check page 339 in the eight edition (7C-025)

Have to agree with the above comments. Sure looks like a little Marston, so called boot, or pocket pistol. Great find for a yard sale! Wish I lived where such things turn up. Thanks for bringing it out for the rest of us to see.

One need go no farther than Marston. That ID is 100% correct. There is an enormous amount of information on W W Marston in the 5 vol set on NY state gunsmiths. Sellers even copied it correctly! [amazing] Robert Knox and W W Marston, known year of partnership is 1851. Case closed. Congratulations to msmith on ID.

Yes! The H could be an M and the T could be just a ding. Wow I just discovered New York 1864 on the right top oblique flat. That pins it down. Thanks a heap guys. Now I'll have to find more about them. I presume this was more of a factory made piece than a gunsmith made one. You guys are awesome and this is a great hobby.
