Gentleman's Flintlock gun maker's mark
« on: October 08, 2008, 08:39:20 AM »
The only information I have about this 18th-century pistol, is that it was used as a prop in an Austrian opera house in the 1920's.  After picking off the old putty, I discovered a gun maker's mark on the barrel.  Where can I start to identify it.................?  thank you - Algoma

Algoma.

Post a photo what you think is a makers mark may be a proof mark, if so there are many books which show the different  Europe proof marks.
If you cannot find a book try  your local library.
