Welcome David,  There is more down to earth knowledge here than you will find in all the books ever written on muzzleloading.  Jump in and ask all kinds of questions, we all learn from the questions of others.

Remember, "He who ask a question is a fool for 5 minutes, he who doesn't ask remains a fool forever" old Chinese proverb.

Welcome Dave.  We would love to see some of your work... Oh and I would love to see your new bench as I am in the research phase of building a new one for myself.

     Greetings fellow Hillbilly,

You will definatly find lots of help here at ALR.  If you are wanting to start afresh there is a Trade fair of Gunbuilders, Hornbuilders, Blacksmythes and Artisans in Lodi OH Oct 9&10th.    Hope you can find the time.

                And Welcome to ALR

Thanks Rich,I am going to the DooWop here in Chas that weekend.Seems everthin happens on the same days.Ok.If I ever figger out how to do pics like I was instructed,I will be doin that.As to the work bench,I build 2 rectangular frames of 2x4 2' wide,8' long, with a center cross brace. Then I make the legs to whatever height I want the bench, drill and screw them to frame with drywall3" screwsI then take a 4x8 of decent plywood, rip in half, use 1 piece for the top, secured with 1 1/2 dw screws, and trim the other piece to fit the lower, screw it down same. This makes a bench strong enough to build a truck engine on,one of my past trades.

Thanks y'all.Dave
