Heck of a nice rifle! Good wood, nice patchbox, fine architecture, and in attic condition. There are lots of good things about this little gun. Hammer is blacksmith made, it appears, but has a Bedford cast to it. The trigger is very nicely filed and curiously, the patchbox is held to the wood by handmade brass pins/nails, rather than schrues. It's pretty obvious that G. Cunkle was a highly competent gun maker and it would be instructive to see one of his fancy pieces
for comparison. Thank you for posting the jpegs.
