Horn W/Four bands & Pewter Tip
« on: December 03, 2010, 07:12:48 PM »

It is about 13" around the outside curve. The base is Walnut and about 2”s, it is hollowed out and held in place with 4 steel pins. The tip was poured than turned and is held on with three steel pins. The four bands were heated and pressed on but have two steel pins each to make sure they stay put. The body has AF on it and the bands a mixture of leftover dyes. It now has a stopper.

Tim
You just keep coming up with new stuff. Great job. I have found that to me, pewter tips are heavy.  I did a buff horn with pewter bands and a horn screw tip. It was better but still kind of heavy.
Also, Happy Birthday

Great looking horn Tim and like the use of the pewter tip.  And Happy Birthday.
