Choptank Pig Shoot
« on: May 22, 2012, 12:17:09 AM »
Had a blast yesterday at our monthly shoot, one of our biggest of the year, our annual pig shoot.  10 rounds of 5 shots each at the @%#^ Griffey 5X target, 25 yards.  I think I only got two 1x's the whole day, and out of 19 shooters there were only four 2X targets this year!  I think we must all be getting worse.  Either that or the smell of the pig on the fire was luring us astray.   ;D  Had great weather, almost all hand made guns by our members, plenty of pig to eat and 128 packs of pig as prizes (we get a 300-400 lb pig butchered and froze as prizes).

I came away with 4 packs of bacon, 1 pack of sausage and 4 packs of lard (my Mom has an old family cookie recipe that originally called for lard, made her promise to try the lard just once in it so we could do an historical taste test.  ;) ).  At least I didn't come in last and win the tail!
