Identification Help Needed

Here is a rifle I obtained some time ago that I can't identify by name or by region.  It is 60" overall length, 44 3/4" barrel length, and about .50 caliber smoothbore.  The only parts about it that I can say confidently are original are the stock, buttplate, patchbox, thimbles, and likely the barrel.  The trigger guard, lock, nose cap, breech plug, and silver eagle are all definitely not original.  The original tang was considerably shorter than this one.  There is no indication that the barrel has ever been shortened.

Any ideas, anyone?

Looks like it had a wrist inlay at one time too.  Like to see a closeup
of the eagle.  Hopefully someone will recognize the eagle or patchbox.

     I can see a seam at the muzzle as if about 1" had been added.

Really nice looking old rifle but it doesn't have any regional characteristics that jump out at you to help identify it. Where was it found? That might help.

I got this rifle in the Shenandoah Valley some time ago.  The cheekrest inlay is pretty clearly not original; that's why I didn't show it.  Thanks for your deas!
