Awsome day in the shop
« on: March 02, 2011, 07:44:20 AM »
Spent an AWSOME day in the shop today! I recently learned about "pitch" on this forum and decided to check one of my guns. .50 smooth rifle,Southern Mt,"B" weight Colrain 42",3/8" cast off. 95grs 3f and shoots cloverleaf groups at 50yds off the bench and beats the heck out of my face. It had @2" negative pitch. I re cut and re shaped the buttplate to give me @1-1/2 positive pitch at the rear sight. Now she shoots like a .40 cal with 40grs! THANKS ALR!
