T. Davis Rifle
« on: March 01, 2011, 11:58:06 PM »
I'm trying to help a friend obtain some information on a half stock rifle.  The rifle is marked "T. Davis Cincinnati".  Anybody have information on that maker?  I don't have pictures right now (nor have I seen it), but I figured that someone out there might have knowledge of this maker.  Thanks.

Okay, I just quizzed my friend further, and the lock is marked T. Davis, so that would be the lockmaker.  The barrel is supposed to be marked Roosa on the top flat, sound familiar to anybody?

I have seen two J. Roosa longrifles over the years. They were both very ornate, "silver age" fullstock rifles, of exceptional quality. Yes, the ARE Ohio-made rifles, though he is not listed in any book.
