Many think and refer to Nathaniel Rowe as the last of the major ( Golden Age) master gunsmiths. Know to have been the apprentice of master gunsmith John Armstrong, this particular signed longrifle is very similar to a "classic" Armstrong which today often commands a six figure price at auction. Clearly the teacher was superior in imparting his skills to the apprentice who also get an A+. Rowe worked into the late 19th C.

This rifle is downright gorgeous! Interesting rear sight. Looks like a peep sight from the picture. I'd love to see more details.

Wow! First time I ever saw an original peep sight. Looks like it was well taken care of.

Beautiful rifle, the sight not only looks like a peep sight but a ghost ring. I guess nothing is new. It would be interesting to look at various styles of longrifle sights. How about a pic looking down the sight?
