Poor boy's shot pouch

Sewed this pouch up using found stuff. The body and inside pocket from an old canvas money bag. Flap from a scrap of leather, the flaw in the edge became the button hole. The copper button is hand made. Buckle is a well used roller type salvaged from an old harness.
Pouch body dyed with walnut stain and painted with hot bee wax to help turn moisture. Probably not HC but should go nicely with a precussion squirrel rifle  ;D

Thanks for looking
Don

Absolutely nothing wrong with that and more historical than you think.  A lot of pouches were salvaged goods as most people did not have money for "new" leather.  Great job!

That is a fine looking pouch.  The overall proportions and workmanship show that you have created and object that is much more than the sum of its parts.  Well done, brother.

Looks like it came right out of the Southern Appalachians. Just perfect for one of those mountain style guns that we love so dearly. A perfect marrage. Nicely done there Don.   Regards  Frank
