I just placed an order with TVM for a 40 cal Tennessee flintlock, 42" barrel iron furniture the only extras will be a toe plate and side plate. I'm really pumped because I haven't shot a flinter in about 8 years and have been missing it. Now the waiting game begins Toni was a pleasure to talk with and very helpful, I'm feeling I made a good choice going with TVM, the only thing i didn't ask is what flints they recommend.

I'd bet lunch a 3/4" flint...but what lock are you using?

Welcome back to rocklocks. You'll be happy with TVM, I think. I am with the one I have. I keep looking at their "southern rifle" and thinking .40. Show us pics and give a report when you get it. We'll be waiting too.

  If the lock is a Chambers (Siler) Late Ketland, 5/8ths by 3/4 worked the best for me.

I normally use 3/4"x7/8" flints in my large Silers and 3/4"x5/8" in my small Silers.
