shooting a howdah pistol

so what kind of loading should i use for a smooth bore howdah could i use a full out shotgun load with buckshot or a normal pistol load of .5 gr for every cal 

see i want it to be more like a sawed off and less like a pistol  im looking at making a 12ga or 20ga one

Sounds to me like you ought to be building a wrist brace first!

no the fore grip with a leather strap sould help with recoil but 12ga even with somkeless dont hurt to bad one handed
