My son's first build
« on: May 24, 2011, 08:04:36 AM »
My son started shooting muzzle loaders when he was about 8 years old but recently decided to get serious about building a rifle.  15 years ago I bought two plain maple stocks and two Green Mountain .45 X 7/8 X 42" barrels from Jack Garner.  I sold mine before I ever built a rifle from it but his has sat around until recently.  I don't know what style or school it will be but I will keep you posted.

Here he learns the joy of fitting a breechplug:

Greybeard, I intend on posting as he works on it.  Constructive criticism is always welcom.

Doc, He has been out shooting me for years.  I woulden't want him shooting at me with anything!
