Art Decamp horn in Contemporary Makers Blog...
« on: June 16, 2011, 05:16:16 AM »
You've gotta love the finish and aging on that Art Decamp horn in today's Contemporary Makers Blog, not to mention the overall balance of it's features.  Just a super looking horn which, I think, amply demonstrates that you don't have to have a horn with 'umpteen' separate and distinct features, to have a really good looking horn!

Saw it last night -  beautifully done.   Really liked  the small details on the plug - very tasteful.   Would love to see more photos of it.

Very Nice Horn. I love the color and aging.  the plug treatment is exquisite.  I like the grooves between each panel.  I do believe the golden mean was acheived on this one!

Thanks for the nice comments on the horn.  It is a close copy of the original horn pictured at the bottom of page 67 in Madison Grant's book "Powder Horns and their Architecure.  I was fortunate enough to have a chance to examine the original while making this one.
