New Hat by Morgan Shea
« on: June 10, 2011, 11:38:13 PM »
Here is a photo of my new hat.
Brown Felt, 4 inch brim. Nice fabric liner.
I am super happy with it.
Morgan was able to build exactly what I wanted.
I steamed the hat last night and wore it until it dried.
Perfect fit. By steaming it just a little, it softened the felt and allowed it to
form perfectly.
Boys, if you are in the market for a hat. Morgan is the man.

Looks great!  Can you tell us more about the style you chose? Time period? Who would have worn that style?

That's a nice looking hat but I can't seem to find any prices  on his site? Does he make fur and wool felt both?
Thanks......Macon

Pat's Hat is fur felt. For the most part I use wool, but even my wool felts are are about 10-20% fur. There are no prices on my site because most of my work is commissioned piece by piece, and each hat is custom made to your specs. If you have any other questions I'd be happy to answer them. My latest for public sale: measures out to 23 inches. It is lined in linen, and hand sewn with linen thread throughout. It should still be listed in the for sale section.

Cheers

That is one fine looking hat.  Congratulations to the new owner and well done to the maker.

I am another very satisfied customer of Morgan's. I wanted a wide flat brimmed hat that was a little taller in the crown than most that were available. A few e-mails and I had exactly what I wanted at a price less than what I could have bought a standard hat from a catalog. I suppose that is the advantage of dealing directly with the builder. An added bonus was the well made deerskin band and the sewn linen liner.

Quite often I have ordered an item and when it arrived it turned out to not be quite what I expected. Not so this time. This hat exceeded expectations by a wide margin.
