Well I got my shipment of horns from John Shorb and WOW what luck I had got alot of nice horns for making cups and such so today I went out to the shop and started messing around making a banjo horn and a cup well this is what I came up with I pressed the cup the same way I do my bottles ..I almost made a big mistake wanted to decorate the bottom a little when I went to put a ring around it I almost messed everything up but was able to recover and save everything it is sealed really well and holds water great ..It is 3 3/4" high



now the banjo here the body is cherry and is threaded for a screw in tip which I am just waiting on some antlers to come so I can finish it.. I am going to engrave the sides ..its 2 1/4" diameter and 1 1/2" thick pressed horn for both sides

Ed, when you said you got the green light you definately did not let any grass grow under your feet.  You are back man, with a mission.  Keep em comming, they look great. 
I got to try and make a couple of cups next time I break the horns out, well, actually I promised myself a blowing horn and then cups.  I am interested in being learning the techniques to make the snap in bottoms.

Dave its not that hard you just have to make sure you break out the calipers and have evrything as exact as possible and also make sure you cut at a 90 degree in to the base of the base of the cup that way you get a nice tight seal

Come on down to Friendship sometime. I have seen folks selling horns in the rough for around $7 each. I rooted around and found some good heavy walled ones this year.
