Irish horn?

This is another fine Sibley horn. Green paint, maybe Irish horn? Maybe Scott will chime in and give us more information about it. Right now all I can tell you about it is that I love it!

Cathy decorates around 98% of the horns I make. Every once in awhile I have to decorate one by myself to give her a break.  My decoration is usually primitive and simple as on this horn.  I strive to be creative and make every horn alittle different if I can.  I really like the look of crusted paint wearing off wood and so I paint many of the base plugs and always put alittle paint on the horn itself.  Sorry I didnt respond to this sooner, I just got home from a week at the western rondezvous and then had alot of weeds to be sprayed, I am partially done for the day. Now I am going to put the finishing touches on a horn Cathy finished while I was away playing.  I will post pictures this afternoon when I have finished it. Thank Yo all for the kind comments.   SS

I am always enthralled by the work the Sibleys do!!! They are an inspiration to all of us amateurs.

 A beautiful group of horns, all posts but the Irish horn...talk about raising the bar! The finish on all is to be envied.

I just gotta pipe up here. Is anyone sure that Scott and Cathy didn't invent some sort of time machine that is capable of transporting them back and forth between 2011 and 1756??!! :D I mean, if I didn't know better, I'd say the horns they produce were in fact stolen off of either an unsuspecting Shawnee or perhaps a frontier longhunter or colonial militiaman!! ;D However they do it, their horns never fail to amaze!! Awesome works of FUNCTIONAL art!
