I've done my last two guns with this orange. I think they came out great. One I sold and the buyer loved it. The other one I will have for sale at Dixons if anyone wants to see it. It will be on Dave Keck's table.
I will admit my wife gave me some strange looks when she saw the orange gun hanging in the laundry room to dry.
I didn't quite put it on as heavy as it looks in your picture. Let it dry overnight. I then steel wooled it back some and followed with two coats of Laurel Mt stain, Lancaster Maple mixed with Nut Brown, about 50-50. Finished with Chambers Oil.
I also tried one with orange followed by Danglers Walnut. I liked the Laurel Mountain mixed satin better.
