I just had to do it

Ok I wasn`t going to make one but after you spend time with Billy Griner and now that everyone has been making one or wants to I decided it was my time to jump on the band wagon and try my hand at a hunting horn .it is a screw tip the mouthpiece is made from antler and it sounds great deep and loud .. From Listening to Mr Griner last year at the museum for 4 days telling people about hunting horns I have learned to things the thickness of the horn does effect the tone the thiner the louder and 1/4 " hole from the mouthpiece to the horn is all you really need anything larger will effect the sound also ..so her eis my attempt it is not completly done yet got to find a donor horn big enough for bands ...

Outstanding start. Looking foreward to seeing the finished horn. Please post future pictures when completed. Also post  horn band pictures of method of installation. Thanks, Turkeyfooter.

Ed,
Great looking start to your horn. bands will probably look really good on the horn but will they stifle any vibrations that are needed for the sound?

When it comes time to turn and fit the bands: If oleEd makes them just a little thinner than the bands he typically turns for his powder horns, and if he heat shrinks them on really good, it want dampen the vibration of the horn.  The one at the end of the bell has to fit just right.  No spaces, Ed.  This is a great horn.  You seem to have listened well.
